First edition of Sciences Po Lille’s Newsletter!

Patrick Mardellat, Director of International Programs and Services:

After months of hard work and a few weeks after we moved to our new location we are delighted to send you the first edition of Sciences Po Lille’s Newsletter. We intend to make it a regular publication to keep you in touch with news and developments about the international life within Sciences Po Lille.

It is clear to us all that we are living through challenging times. The environment we are used to is changing and we need to prepare for a quite different future – the Brexit, the rise of populist extremism, growing protectionism, terror threat, climate change, etc.

But Sciences Po Lille like all its partner universities in the world still believes in the virtues of globalizing studies, to promote a better interculturality and tolerance to the otherness, and extracurricular knowledges, beings and doings.

Internationalisation is a two-way process: for Sciences Po Lille’s students, faculty and staff to realize the full benefits of our global objectives we must in return give as much as we receive. We thus put a strong emphasis on welcoming our exchange students and visiting professors, whom we consider as part of Sciences Po Lille’s community.

We consider knowledge as a common good and recognize that we have a responsibility to share it for the greater good of society. We are proud that our international guests, students and faculty do contribute to fulfill this commitment, academic and moral alike.

The International Newsletter will be dedicated to Sciences Po Lille’s international life and mirror the richness of its dynamic, including contributions of our international guests. I hope that this Newsletter will be part of the student experience at Sciences Po Lille.

Enjoy your reading!
